The team is in a normal preparation and training mode.

Required Training for Membership

Thank you for applying to becoming a member of the Alaska 1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team.

Before your application process can begin the following courses must be completed and are hyperlinked to the appropriate FEMA training site.  These courses are free of charge unless you would like collage credit. If you are interested in collage credit read below before starting.

IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System,

IS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents

IS-700a National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction

IS-800.B National Response Framework, An Introduction

Important Please send a copy of the certificates to the following E-Mail address to insure your DMAT Training records are up  to date.

ICSCERTS@AK1DMAT.COM

You will receive an E-Mail from independant.study@dhs.gov containing a link to your certificate.  If you keep this link you will be able to reprint your certificate in the future.  The link will open a PDF file that you can save and forward as an attachment to ICSCERTS@AK1DMAT.COM.  If you are unable to do this please bring in a copy to the next meeting.

Once we receive your training certificates you will be given access to the formal application process. 

Collage Credit

The following site will take you to the FEMA independent study site.  They have additional courses that may be of interest.  Additionally, you can learn about receiving college credit for completing some of the training.  There is a cost of $60 per SH for collage credit as of 11/08/08.  There is no charge if you do not require college credit. College credit for these courses is not required for DMAT
